Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
LearnOS (“we”, “us”) runs learnosapp.com, an AI-assisted learning workspace. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: hello@learnosapp.com.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, a hashed password if you set one, and a display name.
- Google or GitHub sign-in.If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL from that provider. We use them only to create and identify your account. We don’t get your password or any other data from those accounts.
- Content you create. Courses and lessons you add, notes, highlights, flashcards, chat conversations, reviews, presentations, and audio overviews.
- Learning activity. Lesson progress, enrollments, flashcard review history, and usage counts used to apply free-tier limits.
- API and CLI usage. If you connect the LearnOS CLI or an MCP client, we store a hash of your access token and a log of tool calls (which tool, success, timing).
- Product analytics.Page views and product events (for example, “signed up” or “created a flashcard”) with your browser type and approximate location. We don’t record sessions or capture the text of your notes, lessons, or chats in analytics.
How we use it
- To run LearnOS: sign you in, store and show your content, and track your progress.
- To power AI features: your question and the relevant parts of your library are sent to an AI model to answer chats and to generate reviews, flashcards, presentations, and audio.
- To send account email, such as sign-up confirmation, a welcome message, and password or account-deletion notices.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, including bot checks on sign-up.
- To understand which features are used so we can improve them.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use your learning content for advertising.
Who processes your data
We rely on these providers to run the service:
- Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel: hosting and bot protection.
- OpenRouter: routes AI requests (chat, generation, search embeddings, text-to-speech) to the model providers that serve them. Content you send to AI features is processed by these providers to produce a response.
- PostHog: product analytics and optional in-app surveys.
- Reddit: measuring our ads through its Pixel and Conversions API.
- Resend: transactional email.
- Google and GitHub: only if you choose to sign in with them.
Sharing inside LearnOS
Your notes, highlights, chats, and private courses are visible only to you. They become visible to others only when you use a sharing feature, such as a share link or publishing a course to Discover.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes your account and the content tied to it. Backups held by our providers expire on their own schedules. You can also email us to request a copy of your data or to ask for a correction.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in. Our analytics provider sets a cookie to count visits.
Advertising measurement and acquisition
The Reddit Pixel measures page visits on marketing and public pages and signup conversions. We require opt-in consent in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and when your country is unknown. Elsewhere it is on by default and you may opt out. We honor Global Privacy Control as a denial unless you explicitly accept. No lesson or chat content is shared. You can change your choice below; the choice is stored for 180 days.
The Reddit Conversions API sends a server-side signup conversion under the same consent rules. It includes a hashed conversion ID, a Reddit click ID when present, your IP address, and browser user agent. We do not send your email address or learning content to Reddit.
We store acquisition attribution with your account in our database and in product analytics: UTM parameters, landing path, referrer domain, and ad click IDs. This helps us measure which channels bring signups.
Optional surveys
In-app PostHog surveys are optional. Your responses are stored in PostHog and used to improve the product.
Children
LearnOS isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. For significant changes, we’ll let you know by email or in the app. See also our Terms of Service.
